Refund & Cancellation Policy
This policy covers Oriel subscriptions and product purchases made through seller pages.
Two types of payments
Oriel involves two separate payment relationships:
- Oriel subscriptions — you pay Oriel for Pro or Commerce plans (via Stripe Billing, when available)
- Product purchases — buyers pay individual sellers through embedded Stripe checkout on oriel.page pages
This policy explains refunds for both. Product refunds are primarily the seller's responsibility because Oriel is not the merchant of record for product sales.
Oriel subscription cancellations
You may cancel a paid Oriel subscription at any time from your account settings (when billing is enabled). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then.
Downgrading to Free does not automatically refund unused time on a paid plan unless required by law or explicitly stated at purchase.
Oriel subscription refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable, except where:
- Required by applicable consumer protection law
- We fail to provide the Service due to a prolonged outage attributable to us
- We explicitly offer a money-back guarantee for a promotion
Refund requests for subscriptions: legal@oriel.page. Include your account email and payment date.
Product purchase refunds (buyer)
When you buy a product on a creator's Oriel page, you are buying from that seller, not from Oriel. Contact the seller first for refunds, defective goods, or non-delivery.
Sellers should honor reasonable refund requests and their own stated policies. If you cannot reach a seller, email abuse@oriel.page with the page URL, product name, purchase date, and issue. We may assist by contacting the seller but cannot guarantee a refund.
Product refunds (seller)
Sellers process refunds through their Stripe Dashboard. Refunds return funds to the buyer's original payment method. Platform fees and Stripe fees may not be fully returned on refunded transactions per Stripe's policies.
See our Seller & Commerce Terms for chargeback and dispute obligations.
Digital products
For digital downloads, sellers should clearly state whether refunds are offered after delivery. Where EU consumer law grants a right of withdrawal, sellers are responsible for compliance — including any waiver when immediate download begins with buyer consent.
Chargebacks
Buyers who dispute a charge with their bank initiate a chargeback handled by Stripe. Sellers must respond with evidence. Oriel does not override bank or card network decisions.
Processing time
Approved refunds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on the buyer's bank or card issuer. Subscription refund timing follows Stripe Billing processing.
